Street Bike to Track Bike: First Session at Motofy Arena
Most riders assume you need a dedicated race bike to hit the track. The truth? Your street motorcycle is already track-ready with a few simple, affordable preparations before your first session at Motofy Arena, Jaipur.
Start with safety tape. Remove or tape over all mirrors, indicators, and headlights. Track marshals will not let you out with glass that can shatter on the circuit. Use duct tape or painter's tape - both work perfectly and cost under fifty rupees.
Check your tyres next. Street tyres are absolutely fine for beginner and intermediate track day sessions. Verify tread depth is legal, pressure is at the manufacturer's recommended cold setting, and there are no cracks or punctures. You will adjust hot pressure between sessions based on how the bike feels, but start with street specs.
Fluids need attention. Top off your coolant, brake fluid, and engine oil the night before. Some tracks require you to drain coolant and replace it with water, but Motofy Arena allows coolant for track day sessions - just confirm when you register. Tighten your oil filter and drain plug. A leak on track ends your day and delays everyone else.
Brakes are critical. Inspect pad thickness and rotor condition. If your pads are below fifty percent, replace them. Bleed old brake fluid if it has been more than a year. Track days demand more from your brakes than any street ride, and fade will kill your confidence in the first session.
Remove loose items from your bike. Take off tank bags, tail bags, phone mounts, and anything not bolted down. Empty your pockets completely. A loose wallet or phone becomes a hazard at lean angles you have never experienced on the street.
Fuel up to half tank only. A full tank adds weight and raises the centre of gravity. Half tank gives you plenty for a twenty-minute session with some reserve.
